TWN Travel Alert: London, Pittsburgh, Casper

Share / Recommend - Comment - Print - Tuesday, Feb 14 2006, 5:32PM

One of the traditions that The Washington Note has established is that I'm happy to meet aspiring bloggers as well as policy and political junkies -- and of course TWN loyal readers -- at cool coffee shops (or pubs or saloons as the case may be) on my trips.

Nothing too organized. Folks read here what cities I'll be in -- and they email me ideas of places to meet. I then email back or post on the blog time and place. (places with free wifi really make my day)

Next Monday and Tuesday, I will be in London.

Wednesday afternoon -- Pittsburgh.

Thursday midday -- Casper, Wyoming

Friday -- exhausted. . .and back with Oakley the Amazing Weimaraner in western Maryland.

More later.

-- Steve Clemons

But FACTS means nothing to the criminals and liars in the Bush admin.

Steve,

As much as I would enjoy the opportunity to join you and my fellow Pittsburgh bloggers for a coffee/beer I will be traveling myself next week. Please keep us informed of any future trips you have to the area.

Steve

If you're organizing something in London, I'd like to know. I was in DC for the 90s before settling here last year with my Brit wife, and read your commentary regularly.

I'd like to suggest places, but it might be better to consider where in town you're starting from (either day itinerary or hotel) to know where to begin.

It's Michael Stickings from The Reaction here. It'd be great to see you in Toronto sometime.

I hope you have a good dog sitter.

I don't know of any place in London with free wifi--(except my house!)--but the cheapest I know is the EasyJet place on Tottingham Court. Most hotels have it, however.

If you do get together in London, I'm free on Monday. Some of the Dems Abroad might like to meet you, too.

Safe travels...

And leave the shotgun at home please.

Are you tired of this DC-approach: Do nothing with the NSA issue, and agree to do nothing?

We're supposed to be free of unlawful Government conduct

The States can compel Congress to face this issue, and not cower to the White House non-sense. Here is what you can do: Click -- Call your State legislators and have them discuss this issue, and issue a proclamation calling for Bush's impeachment. There's nothing the President, RNC, or Congress can do to stop this process. Here's how it works: [ Click ]

Tell your friends -- click the link -- send it around -- let people know: If Congress and the White House don't want to do their jobs, and get a real accounting for these violations, the States are prepared to move and force them. Tell your friends, stay determined, and stand your ground!
