Open Thread: Oakley Inc. Named After a Dog

Up at Pocantico this evening at the home and estate of the Rockefeller clan to discuss U.S. foreign policy options.

The op-ed I wrote for a Japanese paper, the Daily Yomiuri, two posts below is getting a surprising amount of attention internationally. I've had lots of email responses.

But let me leave you with this. I miss my pup, Oakley -- pictured above -- as I've been traveling the last week and a half.

But on the Oakley I front, I confess that I named him after the sporting goods company that makes cool sunglasses and foot sandals.

The CEO of Oakley, I've just learned, named his company after his dog.

Sort of a "Matrix" moment. I'll get back on the serious track tomorrow. But the story of the Oakley name is true. . .

I figured that this blog would be ALL OVER allegations that Richard Armitage, or whatever his name is, the aide to Colin Powell who got run out of the Bush Administation, allegations that Armitage was the SOURCE who revealed the identity of Valerie Plame, the semi-secret CIA desk clerk.
Actually, I was expecting wall-to-wall, in dept and extensive Bolton-type coverage on this most pressing national issue, a critical national security leak.
But, I guess, if the neocons didn't do it we won't hear much about it here or in the MSM.

Also, how about some coverage of the Bilderbergers this year? 120 of the world's most powerful people get together every year and the US media, in on the game, just doesn't seem to know what is happening.
I think a Bilderberger meeting has a lot more importance than a meeting of the UN General Assembly.
How about a real scoop here, Steve, and be the first to tell us when and where the Bilderbergers will be meeting and what they will be talking about this year.
It should be in May or June, as usual.

Hard to imagine that the original Oakley is a cooler dog than yours.

Oh, so its Armitage that you pople are going to offer up as the sacrifial lamb to take the heat off of Cheney. OK, whatever, troll.

Matrix indeed. Cosmic for sure. Here is a twist: I have a female golden retriever named Oakley. Source of her name was Anne Oakley. Add it to the matrix.......
