I just can't come to grips with Fox conducting a poll that would have Bush sucking so much wind. Yes, who hasn't been marvelling that Bush had support of over 30% since [insert failure here] but I've gradually come to accept he'll always have at least mid 30's approval.

It is common knowledge among campaigners that a change in polls is more important than stagnant numbers. Even more true during an election year. So, in order to manufacture future momentum, the foundation must be laid: fake staffing shake-up, fake trough in approval (manipulated low by 3 or four point). Follow this up with some success or two (TBD), and a second manipulated poll (this time three or four points to the high side). All of a sudden, it's July and in three months Bush's approval has risen 12% (AND RISING!!! --FoxNews) and Republicans really like their chances in a lot of races that looked in trouble just months ago.

We need to hammer on the failures and expose their successes as manufactured and, if not, irrelevant compared to the seriousness of their failures.

However, there will be continuing deaths in iraq, as Bush has made it clear he has no intention of changing his stance on that war, and despite talk of bringing some troops home.(So they can be sent to Iran?) And, providing that there are no more scandals, it is stil easy to hammer on the obviuos: Katrina, the cost of iraq, the Abramoff scandal, and indictments and guilty pleas relative to the scandal. And then we have the domestic isssues to hammer on: surging gas prices, flat wages, soaring profits and debt, and a lousy case of handling natioanl security. How may times did the cons vote against increased port security? The fact they wanted the UAE to handle it, and all the relative details. How about the seive-like borders?

And who would want to vote for that again?

Pray for rising gas prises. Even my well to do boss is bitching.

When do we enter a stage where several factions feel nearly three years of an incompetent, ineffectual president present an unacceptable risk to the prosperity and security of the nation? Or to the prosperity and prospects of their party? With no reasonable expectation of Congressional cooperation on impeachment proceedings what methods may they resort to to remove Bush from office? What are the most desperate and troubled amongst them capable of? Are there more than the usual number of Secret Service agents in Bush's entourage lately?

We have secured two Supreme Court justices so far and pray to secure others in the next 2 1/2 years, praise be to God. We need not support Our President much any more, but would rather reposition ourselves on the issues to retain power in November and ever onward.

Too bad Bush is responsible for the unnecessary deaths of our servicemen in Iraq, the squandering of 100s billion $$, the near total loss of American prestige in the world, etc.

That is the price this country pays for the murder of 47 million babies since 1972.

We elected this Our President only to secure the Courts. Our next choice, being the kingmakers, will be a man more in line with the teachings of Jesus, not just a pawn to reverse 30 years of murder, whose actions have both punished our land and set the stage for its cleansing.

On the off chance this Michael character is sincere, and not simply some bored staffer trying to jerk liberals' chains. Michael, I'm a progressive Christian. Love thy neighbor is among the greatest callings of a Christian. I see no love and compassion in your voice, just condescension and judgment.

Some facts:

1) George Bush is pro-abortion. Because he has undercut social support programs and his economic policy has increased poverty, more women have opted for abortions because they could barely support the children they already have, much less one more. Everyone else I know wants the number to go down.

2) 70,000 women die each year from illegal abortions. Before piping off about it being "God's punishment", ask yourself, why would millions of women risk death to have an abortion? It certainly isn't for self-interested reasons. Many are raped or forced to have sex. Many are protecting their own ability to support the children they already have. Many do not want the abusive father of the child to be a part of their lives. Yes, Jesus loved and LOVES especially those women for they have sacrificed and paid for their love of their children with scorn (from the likes of you) and sometimes death.

3) Hundreds of thousands of innocent children have died as a result of unjust war (and sanctions) in Iraq. And yet we don't hear a peep out of you and your selective-reality brethren. You tend to support war in which innocent children die. You tend to support capital punishment (I guess because "they deserve it")?

Do we see a theme here. It is the proliferation of a very non-Jesus-like judgement and contempt for others who do not think as you do. Don't you dare go pulling this "Jesus loves you" while doing everything you can to harden your own heart. Compassion is the central teaching of Jesus, and you and your brethren have replaced it with contempt and a very non-Christian desire to control others.

I do not make remarks about your choices or your family for I do not judge you, but I will call out (as Jesus did the money changers) your attitude toward others on this site. And this is an act of love on my part. I will not see my brother misrepresenting Jesus or acquitting himself in a fallen way, when love is required.

I see a host of intolerant so-called Christians idolize their own egos and put their wordly desires for power, control, wealth, and status above the true calling of God. Look on the Christian Coaltion website's policy platform and not one shred of attention paid to loving thy neighbor, helping the poor, freeing the oppressed-- the central tenets of Christ's teachings. But there is plenty about cutting taxes and outlawing gay marriage. It's time you were called, my brother, for you have fallen a long way from the Teachings and you have much to learn and much to humble yourself before.

Economic hardship is no reason to kill your child. There were times when poor people had very many children regardless of knowing where their next meal would come from. They trusted in God and his goodness and they were provided for. Most of you out there have ancestral females who gladly bore children and provided for them under hardship.

No women die each year from illegal murdering of their children because aborto-murder is legal. No woman risks death having their child murdered unless you're talking the eternal death of damnation. Women who wish to murder their child just have to sashshay over to the childmurdering clinic, pay the fee, and get vacuumed out under a highly trained professional child murderers care.

And since they don't risk death (except the certainty of eternal damnation for killing their child), they kill their children for selfish reasons, like lifestyle. As for rape, God works in mysterious ways, and if a child is conceived it is God's will. The woman should love the fruit of her loins no matter how the child is begotten. And for the abusive father business, puleeeze! What sane woman would kill her child because the father was abusive.

As for war killing other people's children in foreign lands, it is lamentable, but we as God's chosen nation must do his will and others will suffer as we do too in bringing the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Son of God, into fruition in this filth and mired world. It's not going to be easy or pretty, but it must be done, for God wills it, and we are His Archangel sword at His beckoning call.

You worship Jesus' compassion, and there will be a time and place for that after all are on bended knee and heads are bowed to Christ the King and His coming reign on Earth. Jesus the money changer thrasher is my Jesus for these times; Jesus the tongue lasher at the Pharisees is the Jesus of aggression who is called forth in these times to do battle side by side with His Father's Archangels. And Jesus will love you for it, He will love you for defending the righteous way of Him and His Father.

The Sword weilding Jesus is my Jesus the Jesus of compassion must wait until their are people truly deserving of compassion after their evil world views have been torn asunder by God's wrath against the evildoers. After people know who's boss then let the compassion begin.

We shall not humble ourselves in the face of Evil, Zeus! You are devilish to suggest that God's true soldiers divest themselves of God's great power as his world is assaulted by the demonic baby killers, etc., etc., etc., who you say we should embrace!

In the Bible, the Jesus of compassion did not wait but led the way, teaching us that the wretched would be blessed, the first shall be last, and the last shall be first, the undeserving shall be saved, and the rich shall be harder to get into heaven then the camel through the eye of a needle. It was that compassion that led to his sacrifice and our redemption, the exact opposite in intent and delivery of your apocalyptic aggression. Jesus never coerced nor subjugated others at any point in the Bible.

For the handful of dubious "kick ass" passages in the Bible, there are hundreds dealing with compassion and humility. You clearly idolize violence and your own human-constructed designs. It's clear you will not, at this point, listen to me or the gift offered by Jesus. You've got it all figured out on your own. You lack the necessary humility to understand that, as a human, you are inherently imperfect. You cling to your world view as someone who lacks faith in spirit.

My God carries me. If your God is so strong then why are you doing all the heavy lifting? I would suggest, that is not God talking but something else. Jesus came to change everything. The wrath of God you wrap around yourself like armor was transformed by Jesus's act into the greatest of all loves and forgiveness. I suspect that you fear that vulnerability, that loss of control, that comes with unconditional love so you take the spirit of Christ and make it into your own image. Instead of being reborn in the spirit of the Living Christ, humbled and freed from the need to force others into your mold, you seek in resentment and fear to subjugate the world.

I pray for you, for I sense you will one day reach a crossroads of conscience that will ask you to offer up your control to God, and bend at the knee of unconditional love. I pray you have the strength to make the right choice.

Abortion is a genuine concern and, to most who go through, a source of great sadness. That is why it is incumbent upon us to work to lower rates of unwanted pregnancy and support the capacity of women (and men) to raise their children. This is not done by judgment but by responsible loving and commitment to non-violent truth. In this, I am not a pacifist. My understanding of non-violence, means protection against violence and confrontation of abusers. I don't think anyone "deserves" to suffer, and I think everyone is benefited by love.

Sometimes it can be a firmer love, as one who confronts an alcoholic spouse (again as Jesus confronted the money changers), or takes down a terrorist intent on killings others, but it is always done honoring the spirit in every being and with due and humble regard to our own imperfection. I do not sense this generosity of heart in you. I see only contempt, violence, and judgment in your words. It colors everything you say. I don't doubt that you love your family, but Jesus asks you to extend that love unconditionally to all brothers and sisters, all neighbors.

If you have a point, let the truth and power of your understanding speak for itself. Hammering us with dogma only makes us believe that you have trouble believing yourself.
