(Oakley the Amazing Weimaraner is going to miss his traveling dad)

Marwan Kraidy of American University and I are going to be spending time in Iowa and Wisconsin the next couple of days.

And this time, the TWN public sessions have been planned in ADVANCE (by some very good and well organized folks at the Stanley Foundation).

The topics will be US foreign policy, Middle East issues, media myths and the Muslim world, and just good old American politics -- good gossip, bad gossip, all of that. (Oakley the Amazing Weimaraner will be taken care of while I'm getting my outside-the-beltway therapy)

September 12, 2006 -- Milwaukee

OK. When are you coming to Albuquerque so we can bask in you brillance. We could use a little around here? Seriously, thank you for all your insights. I always feel I get a balanced view from your blog and the truth, not truthyness(sp?).

Rose -- thanks. I think I'll bask in the brilliance of others -- but I like community basking anyway.

I should be in Albuquerque before long -- probably end of October. I love going to Albuquerque and like the old La Posada Hotel -- which was the very first hotel opened and run by the then small-fry Conrad Hilton. Bet you knew that though.

I think there is a cool coffee shop on Gold Street but don't remember the name of it.

In Iowa city, check out the Foxhead bar to drink with alll grad wrtitng folks. It's the place to be for sophisticated folks.

And they're is a kickass yummy vegan restarant across from the street of thd downtown food co-op.

Enjoy Iowa City. Take a sauna in the main downtown Hotel.
