The pups feel as if they have been neglected on the blog a bit.

They send particular greetings to Senator Chuck Hagel for his vote today.

Woof!!
Steve, when are you going to teach your dogs to play the piano? It's all the rage with cats.
There's even a museum of paintings by cats.
My first introduction to the wonderful world of cat art was the scholarly book, "Why Cats Paint", which included productions by many of the finest feline masters.
You can tell that I'm a cat person, and it's not because they fit in the lap better, or because they ar e so discriminating in the taste with people---it's because of their highbrow attributes.
Still, the pups are attractive dogs.

Marky -- one day you are in DC, I'll give you some time with Oakley and Annie. Oak fits in the lap just fine!

best, steve

Ah....I wanna a new dog. But I would have to find a home for my cat from hell first. If anyone is interested she does laundry, she drags it from the laundry room and deposits it all over the house.

Why would I want a cat to do the only chore I seem capable of performing with any consistency?

Posted by FormerJourno, Apr 27 2007, 5:53PM - Link

I'm the one who was critical of Steve for having *pure-bred" dogs, because there are so many dogs out there with no chance.

We did go get our two pound hounds, one who was about to be euthanized just before she was rescued.

Despite being *mongrels* our mutts are about the cutest things ever. One is sleeping on my lap right now.

So I stand by my statement: getting a mutt from a shelter does not mean that you feel that you are some kind of saint. To many people who have adopted shelter dogs it means that your dog, who may have sniffed the worst i.e., the death chamber, might appreciate the home she/he has been given even more.

My two little mutts are LIVING (the operative word) proof.

Well,if you are a single guy it's a great conservation starter when you bring someone in the front door and your underwear is spread all over the foyer.

Thats what I mean. My underwear is already spread all over the foyer, and I didn't need a cat-box to make it happen.
