Are Mary Matalin and Ken Mehlman Going to Tell John Bolton They Are Uncomfortable with His Dissing President Bush?

Mary Matalin, Ken Mehlman, and Vin Weber are going to be hosting a book party for John Bolton on November 19th. But the anti-Bush administration rhetoric now spewing forth from Bolton is shocking a lot of avid Bush supporters and hitting higher and higher decibel levels.

At what point do book parties for Bolton cross that line of disloyalty to Bush? We'd really like to know.

The sharks are eating themselves.

Steve, I am curious why you don't simply have Powell or Rice forge Bolton's signature on one of his books for you. I bet either one of them could do a convincing likeness, and certainly both of them have shown they can do a quite effective cover-up. And even if Bolton denies signing the book, its still his word against their's. And, no matter the outcome of their dispute, you can still claim that Bolton signed it, and even if he didn't, you were simply hoodwinked into believing he did.

Its perfect, man. Go for it.

imo, what an odd, odd group -- Matalin, Mehlman and Weber.

And host a party for Bolton? I'd "throw the book" at all of them!

Vin Weber makes a lot of sense as he is one of the signatories to the 1998 PNAC letter along with Abrams, Armitage, Bennett, Bergner Bolton, Dobriansky,Fukuyama, Kagan, Khalilzad, Kristol, Perle, Rodman, Rumsfield, Schneider, Wolfowitz, Woolsey, and Zoellick. To my limited knowledge, only Fukuyama to date has publicly written or admitted that invating Iraq was a mistake that he regrets.

There are not a lot of people in the Republican party who give a hoot what Mary Matalin or Ken Mehlmann think. Most of the base thinks more like John Bolton than those folks.

How TALL is Bolton anyway? The pic suggests he's gnome height. Could that explain his bellicosity?

(My apologies to emotionally balanced short people everywhere.)

Folks in D.C. would find nothing newsworthy whatsoever if one inmate in Saint Elizabeth's took off on some fellow inmates, saying terrible things about them. So one wonders why we should be surprised if an insane alumnus of an insane administration breaks the faith and trashes his fellows. Insane people are by definition unpredictable, right? One wonders how Powell, who, although he's a craven sell-out, is not insane, dealt with the piece of work that is John Bolton. Rice? Well, she may not be insane, but she plays the role of mediocre fool very well. Bush? Wanting someone like Bolton to represent the U.S. to the world community speaks volumes about our president.

Arthurdecco raises an interesting point that lies off there in the pyschology realm. There is a whole body of literature about short men. This is the first time I've ever heard or seen anything about Bolton's height (or lack thereof). To me, the clue to him was always in his overly long hair and bushy moustache. That's a real signature. One's choices in grooming do mean something and do send a message.

Yes, Virginia, there is a God and he/she has a sense of irony. Divine Justice can be Divine Comedy and vice-versa. Busholini and Revoltin Bolton deserve each other.

Mary Maitlin, Darth, Bolton and Scooter were quite the tight little coven. If Bolton bolts his mouth off, a reputation he has held since before his recess appointment, he could blow some big time whistle. MM did a fundraiser for Scooter, so why not a book signing for another member of their coven? It creates pressure from the right on Busholini and could help drown out Plame's book signings.

Trashmouthing Busholini is Bolton's way of staying "relevant". Barricuda News smells blood.

I get the "short" thingee and the overly bushy moustache, but what is the overly long hair supposed to signify, Publius? Untidyness? It's not long enough to be liberal.
