Congrats to Josh Marshall: TPM Wins Polk Award

Joshua Micah Marshall and his Talking Points Memo franchise have just won a prestigious Polk Award. This is a key development in recognition of blogging.
The judges sited specifically Josh and his team's work in connecting the dots in the patterned firing of US attorneys.
Josh is a co-parent of The Washington Note. He pushed me for two years to start this -- he got the site designed and launched -- and he has been one of my closest friends and partners on many big policy and political efforts.
So, to the other dad of TWN, congrats on setting such a high standard that we all aspire to in the blogosphere.
But don't worry Sam (son on Josh's shoulders), we aren't jealous. . .

Congrats to both of you!!!!
I enjoy both sites on a daily basis....both are well written and thoughtful....definitely has vastly improved and broadened my news consumption.
A hearty kudos to all involved!!!
Both of the "Dads" should be very proud of their offspring.
The Pulitzer is better known, but the Polk cite is in some ways more prestigious. Corporate news organs don't gear up to win the Polk, but they create new budget line items to get a Pulitzer. Joe Pulitzer was a publisher - management. George Polk was a CBS reporter who lost his life on foreign assignment. Giving this award to a blog is a great moment for enterprise journalism. It's a transcendent moment for reporters.
